Pix Patisserie: The Art of Joie de Vivre
Pix Patisserie will transport you away from the flannel and bearded denizens of Portland to a stylish, street side café in Paris. For both visitors and Portland residents, Pix Patisserie is a great escape from the city around them. While it offers out-of-this-country tastes, it still pulsates with a vibe completely fitting to the Rose City.
Grab an imported draft beer or a freshly brewed cup of coffee and soak in the atmosphere. Vibrant colored walls are adorned with whimsical creatures and fanciful art. The ambience is complemented by a friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Known for their immaculate desserts, Pix Patisserie is the perfect elixir for everyone’s sweet tooth. Try one of the brightly colored macaroons or the ever popular Pixie, a layered dessert made up of pistachios, almond paste and raspberry jam. To complement their hand-crafted desserts, they offer the finest beer, wine and coffee. One can sip on wonderful brews such as Trappist beer or the popular Lambic, a brew that comes in many flavors such raspberry, apple and pear.
Pix Patisserie is also an ideal way to lounge away a summer day. Outside seating at its Division location makes it a perfect place to grab an ice cream, hang out with friends and look at the bustling activity in the Richmond neighborhood. With shopping and restaurants in all directions, Pix serves as a great compass to a wonderful excursion in one of Portland’s most unique areas.
Cheryl Wakerhauser opened Pix Patisserie in 2001 with the goal of “bringing European flare and edible art to Portland with an assortment of elegant pastries and handmade chocolates.” Whether dropping in for a quick bite or diving into a book you've been meaning to finish, Pix works equally well.
Pix has two locations, one in the Richmond neighborhood on Division street, and another located in North Portland on Williams Street. Each location serves a unique dessert and drink menu, so be sure to look at their website (click here) for all the relevant information.
