My Thai Bistro: Elegantly served Asian cuisine
May 31, 2010
By offering the best in Thai cuisine and extraordinary service, My Thai Bistro humbly beats out the many Thai kitchens that dot Portland’s culinary landscape. The restaurant is wonderful to dine in with its elegant interior, but also can make a good choice for take-out.
Located in the Hawthorne District, My Thai Bistro proudly stands out as a pleasant and affordable meal. Their strikingly styled interior offers a nice blend of modern design with nods to Thailand including statuettes of Buddha and plenty of flowers.
As soon as you step into the restaurant, you are greeted with a smile. Unlike many restaurants, the wait staff makes you feel as though they truly appreciate your business. Once you sit down, they not only bring a sample of the evening’s soups, but also warm hand towels. This sort of service helps for My Thai to rise above similar restaurants.
If you are in the mood for take-out, My Thai can be perfect for that after-work meal. Diligently on time, you can swing in to pick up your food and be home in time to catch your favorite television show.
My Thai Bistro can be a great choice if you have a large party with their affordable and large menu. There is surely something for everyone and with many choices from fried spring rolls to spicy curry to please every palate. Most dishes can be ordered with a variety of protein options (chicken, seafood, tofu) as well as your appropriate level of spiciness. Their specialties include both their curry and noodle dishes, including the popular Pad Kee Mao which has wide egg noodles, vegetables, and your choice of protein.
One of the more impressive aspects is their drink menu. Not only do they specialize in Thai Iced Coffee and Tea, but also have a large selection of wine by the glass and beers. While you might not think of pairing good wine with Thai food, it can make the meal.
With a large dining area, My Thai Bistro is never fully packed. It can be a good choice if you need a spur of the moment meal without worrying about a wait time.
HelloMetro Tip: In need of a good lunch? Try to their lunch specials which are both affordable and tasty.
