Kenny And Zuke’s: Bringing the East Coast deli to the Rose City

Jun 1, 2010

Kenny and Zuke’s gives you the taste of the neighborhood delicatessen with the innovative feel of Portland. Surprisingly, Portland lacks many quality sandwich stops despite being a city known for food carts and cheap eats.  Kenny & Zuke's solves this problem by providing quality and affordable sandwiches among their many deli creations.

Kenny & Zuke’s can be the right choice whether you are looking for a quick bite at lunch or a more leisurely eating experience.  The downtown location is quite a bit busier than their neighborhood location in northwest Portland. Both offer similar menus, but the location in northwest Portland can sometimes make a better choice if you’re in the mood for a lower key excursion.

Whichever location you choose, try their specialty Reuben sandwich. This tasty delight consists of the finest deli meats on freshly baked rye bread.

The downtown Kenny & Zuke’s offers a fuller menu including egg dishes, bagels, and bialys. Not only focusing on sandwiches for lunch or dinner, they expand with fried chicken and burgers. Their shoestring French fries are a favorite and should make everyone’s plate.  The downtown location gets a considerable amount of foot traffic, which makes sense given its proximity to both the Ace Hotel and other downtown lodgings.

Located at the end of the NW 23rd neighborhood, their SandwichWorks location seems like a tucked away secret. Usually quiet, you can swing it at most times of the day and pick up a sandwich without a long wait. Another great aspect is that the location offers free lunch delivery for orders over $15. So if you are stuck at the office and have a need for a quality sandwich, you can get it without leaving your desk.

The East Coast is known for its quality delis offering up tasty sandwiches and baked goods. Kenny and Zuke’s brings that feel to the northwest. So whether you are a lifelong Portland resident or a transplant from Brooklyn, you will feel at home at Kenny & Zuke’s.

HelloMetro Tip: Want a fun place to watch a Portland Trailblazers game? The northwest Portland location can be the place to watch with their top notch food and drink.
